Clerk shoots back at would-be robbers, kills 1
By Frank Gerace

Wilmington police say a liquor store clerk apparently shot and killed one robbery suspect Tuesday night, but 2 others are still at large.

Police say the masked suspects told the clerk at Favors Liquors at 1020 North Walnut Street he was being robbed around 9:30, but when 2 of the would-be robbers pulled guns and ordered the clerk to the back of the store, he exchanged shots with them, one suspect was hit and the other two got away.

The suspect who was shot was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he died.

Anyone who knows where the other suspects may be can call city detectives or Crimestoppers.
