Newark Police arrest a man in connection with the weekend stabbing of University of Delaware quarterback Trevor Sasek.

25-year-old Michael Creed of Newark faces charges of assault and possession of a deadly weapon.

He's accused of stabbing the 22-year-old Blue Hens quarterback following a fight behind the Main Street Galleria on Delaware Avenue early Sunday morning.

Sasek was listed in stable condition at Christiana Hospital after undergoing surgery.

It's unclear whether Creed, who is not a registered University of Delaware student, and Sasek know each other.
