Middletown man gets 5 years in fatal 2-vehicle crash
By Associated Press

A Middletown man who prosecutors say was driving up to 90 mph before he crashed into an oncoming vehicle has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for manslaughter and assault.

20-year-old Markese Marshall-Horsey apologized repeatedly in court Friday to the parents of 17-year-old Andre Smith, who died in the fiery crash last year in Wilmington.

The News Journal reports prosecutors say Marshall-Horsey was angry that he had gotten a traffic ticket earlier on April 12, 2012. Authorities say he was speeding when he lost control of his SUV and crashed into the vehicle in which Smith was a passenger.
