Dover residents defend their home during a break in Friday night.

Police say two men forced their way through the back door of a house on the unit block of Heritage Drive at 11:18 p.m.

Once inside, the men were confronted by people inside the home.

One victim was assaulted by one of the suspects and suffered head and face injuries.

Dover Police say one of the suspects was carrying a pump action shotgun, but was disarmed during the struggle with the residents.

The two suspects then fled on foot into the Hamlet Playground.
