Tuesday was the last day of production for the General Motors Boxwood Road, which is shutting down and ending more than 60 years of auto production.
The tradition dates back to just one year after the end of the Second World War.
GM spokesman John Raut says the last car to roll off the assembly line this morning was a silver Pontiac Solstice.
More than 1100 Boxwood Road workers are losing their jobs.
GM says the workers are getting severance packages, and many have been placed elsewhere in the company.
