Lightning strikes a young woman at a zoo in Cecil County.

19-year-old Haley Embleton, a University of Delaware student from Sussex County, was working as an intern at the Plumpton Park Zoo in Rising Sun when severe weather came through around 9:10 a.m. Thursday.

The fire chief of the Community Fire Company in Rising Sun says he's not sure whether Embleton was hit directly or whether the lightning hit a nearby object first.

The Cecil Whig reports that zoo staff members immediately gave her CPR and she was taken to the hospital. There's no word on her condition.
