Bryan's Jewel won the 109,125 Grade III Obeah Stakes at Delaware Park on Saturday afternoon.

The five-year-old won the 75,000 John Memorial just a week ago.

Bryan's Jewel with Alex Cintron had the slight edge over And Why Not with Joshua Navarro.

She ran the mile and an eighth with a 1:51.21 marked time over a fast main track. Bryan's Jewel has a career record of eight wins out of 23 starts.

The Obeah Stakes is the local prep race for the mile and a quarter $750,000 Grade I Delaware Handicap to be run on July 20.

McLean Robertson, the trainer of Bryan's Jewel is unsure if Bryan's Jewel will participate in the Delaware Handicap.

"We will see how she comes back,"Robertson said in a released statement. "She has made $200,000 for the year and she has a graded stakes win now. Obviously, we are here at Delaware Park, we like Delaware Park and we want to run in the Delaware Handicap especially because it is a Grade I, but she would have to be awful right to run in the race."
