WDEL's Gianna Banner reports.Settled and ready to go, the 60,000 plus Firefly Music Festival attendees were anxious to see what day two had to offer.
WDEL's Gianna Banner reports.
Campers survived their first day of Firefly Friday night. With cars and tents full of snacks, drinks, and other essentials, the crowd woke up early and ready for round two.
Some were still shocked and impressed with how great Friday night's acts like Calvin Harris and The Red Hot Chili Peppers were. Madison Gessler of Ohio tells WDEL her favorite performers thus far.
"So far it has been The Avett Brothers. They were wonderful live. The Chili Peppers were really good as well," said Gessler.
The weather was scorching hot Saturday, and the crowd found ways to stay cool, whether it was sporting their festive bathing suits or visiting the hammock area, resting underneath the shade of trees.
There were several first-timers from all around, but Elyse from Wilmington tells WDEL that her second visit to Firefly met expectations.
"I think compared to last year, there's just a lot more people. But there's also a lot more amenities and activities and extra stuff that people can do."
Sunday is the final day of the 2013 Firefly Music Festival in Dover. Vampire Weekend, Foster the People, and others will be performing.
