The nation's mayors are meeting this weekend in Las Vegas.

Wilmington Mayor Dennis Williams tells WDEL the annual conference offers a opportunity for an open exchange of ideas.

He says city leaders help each other out, leaving party designations at the door.

"When manufacturers or businesses come to their city, if they can't accommodate them, they're willing to trade these businesses off to other cities because we all want one thing, the mayors' do, we want the success of each and every one of us no matter what our party affiliation is," says Williams.

Williams says cities across the country are all in the same boat.

"It's the same thing, no matter how big our city's are, we are all struggling to keep our cities afloat, especially with the Washington cuts. But other than that, we'll make it," Williams says.
