By Peter MacArthur 12:02pm, June 24, 2013A rash of car break ins around Wilmington of late has police reminding you that those kinds of burglaries can be a symptom of the season.
Mark Ivey, public information officer for Wilmington Police says, one of the best and most basic pieces of advice to keep your car from getting broken into, revolves around where you park it.
'Make sure you park your vehicle in a well lit area, so you can see what's going on with your and equally important, others can see what's going on with your car."
Ivey says another precaution to use is, not only remove your GPS from your windshield, but also the suction cup it attaches to which can signal crooks that a GPS unit is inside.
