A pedestrian is left in critical condition, after a Newark crash Saturday evening.

State police say Charles Gardner of Wilmington stepped into the path of a 1994 Integra at 9:35 p.m.

John Miller operating the Integra was traveling westbound on Ogletown-Stanton road, when Gardner was walking from the median near Old Churchmans Road.

After Gardner was struck once, it is possible that he was struck again by a Toyota Camry following behind Miller.

Gardner was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to Christiana Medical Center.

The drivers and passengers were not injured.
