Blue Rocks score twice in 11th to salvage win
By Sean Greene

The Blue Rocks scored three runs in the opening inning, but it took a pair of 11th inning RBI singles to pick up a 7-5 victory at Frederick Monday night.

Jared Schlehuber smacked his 5th home run of the season after an RBI single by Dennis Raben to give Wilmington the early 3-0 lead.

Lane Adams' 6th home run of the year came in the 3rd inning to make it 4-0, and a Schlehuber RBI double in the 5th put the Blue Rocks up 5-1 and seemingly in control.

Rocks' starter Kyle Smith would surrender a 2-run, 6th inning homer to Michael Ohlman to cut the lead in half, and then reliever Malcolm Culver blew the save by giving up back-to-back 8th inning RBI singles to Brenden Webb and Jason Esposito to knot the game at 8th.

With the game still tied with two outs in the 11th, Tyler Chism and Justin Trapp connected on back-to-back RBI singles to give Wilmington the two-run advantage.

Andrew Triggs took full advantage, striking out two Keys and forcing a groundout to end the game and improve his record to 3-2 on the season.
