State troopers are looking for the driver who struck a cyclist and fled from the scene Friday afternoon in Ardencroft.

Police say a 46-year-old Wilmington man was riding his bicycle south on Veale Road around 3:22 p.m. when he was hit by an SUV as approached Evergreen Lane.

The cyclist was thrown from his bike but the driver of the SUV didn't stop and kept driving.

A witness says the SUV is a Lincoln Navigator, that's described as tan or cream in color with a temporary Delaware tag and is likely to have damage on its front-passenger side.

The driver is described as an elderly man with gray hair.

The cyclist has been released from Christiana Hospital after being treated for minor injuries.
