A new movie theater is coming to Christiana.

Regal Cinema plans to build a 14-screen movie-plex in the new 'Promenade at Christiana' retail center.

Regal spokesman Russ Nunley says the complex will include a Regal Premium Experience (RPX) auditorium - a state-of-the-art 3D theater.

"That's a way to have the very best in projection and sound...to have it all tweaked. You know, like if you have the dial and you're going up past 10 to 11 - to have it all turned up," Nunley tells WDEL News.

Nunley says the Christiana complex will join their Brandywine and Glasgow theaters.

"We really had a sense from our existing customers that there was a need for something more. And we just see this Christiana location as a way to be close to the center of all the retail," Nunley says.

Construction will begin later this year, with a planned opening in the fall of 2014.
