County police arrest a couple from Barnesville, Pa. after officers allegedly found heroin and an active methamphetamine cooking operation during a traffic stop.

It happened around 11 a.m. Friday morning, when police say a car traveling on the outskirts of Newark at Marrows Road was pulled over for missing a turn signal.

Police say Ryan Oakes-Janeiro and Ashley Hoppes were acting suspiciously during the traffic stop, which led to their removal from the car.

Officers then allegedly discovered heroin in her purse and a plastic bag that contained a meth cooking operation.

DNREC Hazmat teams arrived to neutralize the hazardous chemicals being used to cook meth and officers allegedly found four more bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia in the car.

Oakes-Janeiro and Hoppes have been released on $14,500 bail.
