Wilm. man arrested for alleged scrap metal theft

Newark police have arrested a Wilmington man for allegedly stealing scrap metal from a local business .

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning on the 700 block of Interchange Boulevard, where police say Kyle Mason and a second suspect loaded air conditioning coils into the bed of a pickup truck.

Police say Mason was identified as a suspect and a search warrant was later executed at his house and in his truck.

During the search, officers allegedly turned up 12 air conditioning coils and tools for cutting metal.

Mason has been released after posting $601.00 bail. A second suspect involved in the theft remains at large.
