Rehoboth cop still on leave pending probe

A Rehoboth Beach Police officer put on paid administrative leave in April is STILL there three months later.

Rehoboth Beach Police Chief Keith Banks explains the situation to our sister station Delaware 105.9

"The Department of Justice is still reviewing the case, and we're hoping to hear something in the very near future," says Banks.

Corporal Robert Tyler Whitman was placed on leave after an April 7th incident of alleged police brutality, where he Tasered and was caught on tape, apparently kicking Jeremy Anderson in the head.

Anderson pleaded guilty to various charges, but Banks explains why he and the mayor wanted the state to see if there are any criminal charges to come against Whitman.
