Two children are dead and three firefighters were injured in a fire at a home in Chester this morning.

Firefighters were on the scene in the 900 block of East 15th Street about 6:30 a.m. Flames engulfed the first floor of the apartment.

Battalion Chief Jack Powers tell NBC 10-TV that two children, ages 7 and 10, were found dead in separate bedrooms on the second floor of the apartment.

"There was nothing they (the firefighters) could do in this situation. They made it to the second floor and did the best they could," he said.
