A Bear man has been arrested by county police for an alleged golf club attack Tuesday night.

Police say William Mellon faces charges including aggravated menacing and criminal mischief after he shattered a glass storm door and dented a steel door at a home in the Treelane Terrace community.

A woman who lives at the home told police Mellon allegedly showed up looking for her daughter's boyfriend and charged at her with the club.

The woman was able to retreat into the house and front door and she told police there were also a number of men who also fled along with Mellon. She later called police, who arrived at the home just before 8:30 p.m.

A police canine helped police track Mellon to a picnic table at a home on the unit block of Burns Way. He then surrendered to police.

He's been arraigned and released on $6,000 unsecured bond.
