Police: Convicted felon arrested after shots fired report

A report of shots fired led to the arrest of a Wilmington, man who was allegedly in possession of a firearm he's not allowed to have.

Wilmington Police say officers arrived in the area of Lancaster and Clayton Streets around 4:45 p.m. Friday afternoon for a report that someone was shooting at a group of people.

Officers then spotted Michael Carroll, who police say matched witnesses' descriptions of the suspect, on the 100 block of N. Rodney Street.

Police say Carroll was carrying a revolver he's prohibited from having because of his prior felony convictions. He was also allegedly carrying a box of ammunition.

He's was taken into custody and will be arraigned at JP Court 20.

No one was injured during the incident.
