Nashville routs Newark National 10-0 in LLWS elimination game

Zane Denton hit a grand slam to lead Nashville, Tenn., to a 10-0 win over Newark National, in an elimination game at the Little League World Series on Monday.

Knox Preston ended the game with a two-run homer to center field in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Southeast champions (2-1) broke the game open with a six-run second to stay in contention in the U.S. side of the loser's bracket.

Nashville has combined for 20 runs in its past two games, following a 10-2 win over Corpus Christi, Texas.

Newark National (1-2) threatened with the bases loaded in the third before Joseph Davis struck out looking. Justin Courter had the lone hit, a single, for the Mid-Atlantic champions.

After opening the tournament with a 6-3 win over Iowa, Newark National dropped a 15-3 decision to California.
