By Amy Cherry 8:29am, August 20, 2013 - Updated 10:52am, August 20, 2013The University of Delaware says 2,000 more people than previously thought were exposed in a recent cyberattack.
UD tells WDEL that brings the total of people compromised in last month's attack on its website to 74,000.
The second group includes people who received some payment from the University. They were sent letters earlier this week, offering the same credit-monitoring and protection services as the others are affected.
The university says hackers compromised names, Social Security numbers and university identification numbers.
The FBI may investigate the breach as part of a criminal matter as a private firm helps UD determine how it happened.
