Wilmington police have arrested a woman who allegedly tried to buy heroin and authorities say she had a child in her car when the transaction took place.

Police say vice officers spotted Samantha Mills participating in a hand-to-hand drug deal and stopped her car on the 2200 block of West 5th Street. Officers searched the car and allegedly seized more than a half-gram of heroin worth $382.

Mills faces a charge of drug possession but also a count of child endangerment because a three-year-old girl was in the car.

She's been released on $3,000 unsecured bond.
