VIDEO: Highlights of the Glasgow vs. Smyrna football game

Friday night was the first game of the season for the Glasgow Dragons as they defeated the Smyrna Eagles 20-15.

On the first play of the game Smyrna's #10 Jamal Powell returned the opening kickoff to the house only to fumble in the end zone. The Eagles were fortunate as #20 Trayvon Cannon scooped up the loose ball for the touchdown putting the Eagles ahead 7-0.

The Dragons would respond as Quarterback LaMont Brown would rush for a pair of touchdowns late in the first quarter. The Dragons would miss both 2-point conversions to go up 12-7. Smyrna's Quarterback #5 Avery McMullin then threw a bullet to #7 Maurice McFolling-Nichols for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion would be good as the Eagles took a 15-12 lead going into halftime.

The second half would be all defense until late in the fourth. With only a minute left to go, 4th and goal, Glasgow's LaMont Brown would find wide receiver Jai C. Waylon for the go ahead score. Brown would run in the 2-point conversion himself as the Dragons went on to the 20-15 victory.
