After hearing several comments on an ordinance to crack down on dog owners whose animals don't stop barking, members of Sussex County Council decided to take up the issue again in six weeks.

The proposal would impose fines of $25 to $75 on a dog owner whose dog doesn't stop barking after 30 minutes.

Following this morning's public hearing, council members voted 4-1 to take a six-week break from considering the ordinance again.
