The heat is back and Delmarva Power is asking that customers conserve energy today.

The company is expecting an increased demand for electricity with the temperature expected to be over 90 today. Delmarva says the power supply is expected to be sufficient, but customers are asked to conserve.

Customers can get a credit toward their bill if they restrict use of air conditioning between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Customers participating in a voluntary energy rewards program will have air conditioner compressors turn off and on for short intervals between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. It may take up to a half-hour after the event ends at 8 p.m. for air conditioners to resume normal operations.
