| Moyer Academy | After having its charter revoked by the state, there now lies a future for the once troubled Moyer Academy.

Moyer Academy will re-open for grades 6-12 this fall.
"Parents are invited to enroll their children in the new Moyer Academy."
Governor Markell says new teachers, new curriculum, and new management by education
company K-12 are all part of the makeover.
But some things will stay the same, including the school's name, and for that, Mayor
Jim Baker says he's grateful.
"To abandon these facilities and make 'em empty, and then try to refill them with
something else would have been criminal because this neighborhood needs this facility,
and our children need it."
Patricia Robbins of Wilmington says she's already looking to enroll her grandkids
here.
"I believe in having the kids closer to home, and if they can get the same education
here that they can somewhere else, why not?"
Registration is open Tues-Fri. next week at the Boys and Girls Club on Spruce Street
in Wilmington. The school will also hold an info session for parents at the same
location on Thursday, July 22, at 7:30pm.
