VIDEO: Highlights of the Appoquinimink vs. Charter boys soccer game

Appoquinimink defender Matt Dina scored his first career high school goal, and their defense made it stand up in a 1-0 victory over Charter Thursday.

With ten minutes to go in the opening half, Dina took a pass from fellow midfielder Sam Jester and fired a shot that was blocked. Dina stayed with the play and fire a second shot that found the back of the net putting the Jaguars up 1-0.

Some drama stirred up five minutes into the second half as Appoquinimink's Alex Romano lobbed a shot over Charter goalkeeper Sam Kwiatowski for an apparent goal, however the play was ruled void on an offsides call.

Charter's defense played admirably as they stuffed several attacks by the Jaguars, but their offense just couldn't seem to solve the Appoquinimink defensive puzzle going scoreless in the game.
