I-495 Closure Update

Search is on for couple linked to dozens of crimes in Del. and Md.

State police are looking for a man and a woman they believe may be linked to dozens of crimes in Delaware and Maryland.

Troopers determined while investigating two thefts at North Wilmington businesses that the pair have committed thefts at restaurants, convenience stores, and gas stations throughout Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The female suspect acts as a lookout while the male suspect enters an office and removes cash. Usually, the man dresses like an employee of the business or a vendor, often carrying papers, in order to seem innocuous.

Police say the man was dressed as a restaurant employee when he walked into the business office at Harry's Savoy Grill on Naamans Road September 1st and took money.

These suspects are believed to be responsible for potentially dozens of thefts since late 2012. Troopers are asking the public for help identifying the pair, and warning business owners to be alert for unauthorized people in employee-only parts of their stores and restaurants.
