Mayor Dennis Williams announces Friday the exit of his Chief Strategy Advisor, Velda Jones-Potter.

Williams says, "The future of our city depends on our ability to move forward and execute my vision to improve economic, neighborhood and youth development."

The announcement comes only days after news broke that taxpayer money funded police enforcement at a hip-hop concert promoted by Jones-Potter's son, Brandon Potter.

Before joining the Williams administration, Jones-Potter was appointed by Governor Markell to finish his term as State Treasurer and served from 2009 to 2011.
