New Castle County Police say they've received no reports of a child missing in the wake of their Amber Alert Tuesday evening and now say they're not ruling out that the incident may not have been a kidnapping.
Witnesses had reported that a white girl between 10 and 12 years old was abducted while walking around 6:30 p.m. at Albion Drive in the area of Elliott Street, in the community of Whispering Pines Townhomes in Newark.

They say she was pulled into an older model white SUV, with dark tinted rear windows, and a roof rack.

Police now say the incident may have involved a parent pulling their child into a vehicle.

The investigation into what happened and who was involved, is continuing.
