State Police say the man behind a Monday morning bank heist in Wilmington and a strong armed robbery three weeks prior has been arrested.

29 year old Qwai Tilgham of North Spruce Street went into the TD Bank at 300 Delaware Avenue at just after 8 Monday morning.

He gave a teller a note demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say it was also Tilgham who attacked an 82 year old woman as she left Taffy's Food Market on the 700 block of East 4th Street on September 3rd.

He's accused of walking up to the victim, pushing her to the ground, and fleeing with her purse.

A Wilmington detective noticed similarities in the suspect description in both incidents.

Police say Tilgham has confessed to both crimes. He's in the Howard Young Prison on 40 thousand dollars bail.
