DuPont's Kullman #3 on Fortune magazine list

DuPont Chair and CEO Ellen Kullman is number 3 on Fortune magazine's list of the 50 most powerful women in American business.

The 57-year-old Kullman, who is a native of Wilmington, began her career at DuPont in 1988 as a marketing manager. She became CEO in January 2009, and chair of the board on December 31 that year.

The top five on the list are: Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook, at number five; Marillyn Hewson of Lockheed Martin at number 4; Kullman at number 3; Indra Nooyi of Pepisco is at number two; and the most powerful woman, for a second year in a row, is Ginni Rometty, the CEO of IBM.
