A Newark man is arrested in a crash over the weekend in Newark that killed an elderly woman.

Newark police say 53-year-old Robert Perago of Newark was speeding in his 2013 BMW and rear-ended a Toyota waiting for the light at South College Ave. at Christiana Parkway Saturday evening.

90-year-old Cora Williamson of Wilmington was a back-seat passenger in the Toyota. She died later at Christiana Hospital. The collision also injured the driver of the Toyota, 60 year old Gail Dierolf of Wilmington and another passenger, 65-year-old Richard Dierolf of Wilmington. Both were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from the hospital.

Perago took off after the crash but was caught quickly. Police say he had been drinking.
