A University of Delaware sophomore is dead and a freshman injured after being hit by a pickup truck south of Newark early Friday morning.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. on South College Avenue at Gbc Drive.

State Police say 19-year-old Ethan Connolly of Medway, Massachusetts was killed while crossing South College Ave.

18-year-old Daniel Bernstein of New York City was injured. He is being treated for non-life threatening injures at Christiana Hospital.

Troopers say the victims were not crossing at a fully marked crosswalk, and the driver of the pick-up was going through the intersection on a green light.
