By Mellany Armstrong 1:02pm, October 21, 2013People will be swinging through the trees at Lums Pond State Park this weekend to benefit an organization that helps veterans transition to civilian life.
The Wilmington-based Suiting Warriors Foundation is holding the first 'Ropes for Hopes' event at the Go Ape ziplining course.
Founder Star Lotta says the money will be used to expand Suiting Warriors by adding more staff and locations.
"It's a little heartbreaking because, we are just starting, I started this out of my apartment a year ago, and I did not expect a year ago for it to be at the level that it has gotten to," she said.
Suiting Warriors has provided suits and job connection resources to 35 veterans since July, and now Lotta says she is getting requests from all over the country. You can participate in 'Ropes for Hopes' and get more information by clicking here.
