Wilmington police say a 30-year-old felon has been arrested for the murder of another man earlier this week.

David Hinson is accused of shooting and killing Kareem Owens at the corner of W. 24th and N. Washington Streets around 7:12 p.m. Sunday night.

Police say Hinson was identified as a suspect and taken into custody by U.S. Marshals around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning in the Super Lodge at 1212 West Avenue just south of the city.

Hinson is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms. He faces first degree murder and firearm possession charges and is awaiting arraignment at headquarters.
