VIDEO: Highlights and Reaction to Delmar's victory

Delmar's Booter Ellis and Shaina Thompson scored first half goals as the Wildcats held on to edge Tatnall 2-1 and return to the DIAA Field Hockey Championship Game.

The No. 3 seeds started out strong when Ellis' blast from the top of the circle just past the two-minute mark of the 1st half eluded traffic and found the back of the cage.

With about five minutes to go in the half, Thompson was awarded a penalty stroke, and she made Tatnall pay by blasting home the shot to make it 2-0 Wildcats at intermission.

Tatnall stepped up their pressure in the second half, peppering Delmar goaltender Tressie Windsor with shots. At the 10:34 mark, Shay Cannon was awarded her own penalty stroke, and she was able to solve Windsor to cut the deficit to one.

In the final seconds, Tatnall earned a penalty corner, but Cannon's rocket shot was deflected just wide, and Delmar advanced to face No. 1 Cape Henlopen for the title Saturday afternoon at 1pm in Dover.
