Several town homes in Pike Creek were damaged in a fire early Sunday morning.

The state fire marshal's office says the 2:30 a.m. fire in the 3200 block of Champions Drive in the Fairway Falls community was accidental.

The Mill Creek Fire Company and other fire companies were called to assist in battling the fire that originated on the rear deck of a building caused by charcoal from a grill.

The fire was fueled by high winds.

No one was injured in the fire, but damage is estimated at $300,000.

Displaced residents were either placed by the Red Cross or are staying with family or friends.
