You may soon see a higher water bill if you live below the C&D Canal.

Tidewater Utilities has asked the Delaware Public Service Commission for a rate increase that if approved, would translate into a quarterly increase of a little more than $30.00 per residential customer.

Tidewater, the largest private water supplier south of the canal in Delaware, says it needs the revenue boost, to recover costs of increased capital investments, as well as increased operations and maintenance expenses.

Public hearings on the request are expected in the first quarter of next year.
