A boot camp program at the Sussex Correctional Institution has been put on hold after a correctional officer who worked there was charged with having sex with three female participants.

Department of Corrections spokesman John Painter says the program was halted after the Nov. 20 arraignment of Christopher S. Peck. The 39-year-old Peck was arrested after a 19-year-old inmate reported that she had had sex with him and investigators learned that he also had sexual relations with two other inmates, aged 27 and 28, on 11 occasions dating back to July.

Painter says Peck has resigned his job since the charges were filed.
