No one hurt after 2 shootings in Wilmington's Hedgeville neighborhood

No one was injured after two separate shootings in Wilmington's Hedgeville community Wednesday night, police said.

The first incident happened around 7:20 p.m. on the 500 block of South Van Buren Street.

Police say a group of men got into a dark-colored sedan and fired multiple shots into the air before driving away.

A second report of shots fired happened around 9:10 p.m. when police say a man fired multiple rounds on the 1100 block of Maple Street.

As the suspect fled, he pointed a handgun at a person who came to his doorway to check on the noise.

The gunman drove off in a dark-colored sedan.

Police say there are similarities between both incidents and they remain under investigation. No victims have come forward and no property was damaged.

The suspect in the second incident was described as black, early 20s in age, 5 feet 8 eight inches tall and had a medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incident.
