They never trailed, but it was never very comfortable, as the Eagles beat the Cowboys 24-22 to win the NFC East and secure a playoff spot.

It wasn't easy though. Dallas actually had the chance to tie the game. Dez Bryant scored on a 32-yard pass play with just under four minutes remaining. The Cowboys then went for 2 and the tie, but failed to convert.

The Cowboys were playing with backup quarterback Kyle Orton, replacing Tony Romo, who had season-ending back surgery on Friday. The knock on Romo has always been late turnovers - which eventually doomed Orton as well.

"That was a...interesting fourth quarter, to say the least," Eagle coach Chip Kelly said after the game. "But this group just keeps battling and they just found a way."

The Eagles defense came up with three turnovers in the game.

QB Nick Foles threw two touchdown passes for the Eagles.

RB LeSean McCoy had 131 rushing yards and a receiving TD. He finishes the season as the NFL rushing champion

Kelly says this team is special.

"Everything we asked them to do as a staff from the first day that we got there on April 1st until tonight, they bought in and it's a awesome feeling when you can work as hard as they've worked and to see it pay off. The result is you're 10-6 and division champs," Kelly said.

The Eagles finish the regular season with a record of 10-6, after only winning 4 games a year ago.

They will host New Orleans in a wild-card game on Saturday night. You'll hear it right here on WDEL.
