Just two days after a 61-year-old Windsor Hills woman was nearly beaten to death, police nabbed 19-year-old Jermaine Booker and 20-year-old Kendall Briscoe allegedly driving erratically in the victim's stolen Lexus in Newark, New Jersey.

Captain Robert McLucas with County Police is the lead investigator on this case.

"The home invasion and the attempted murder charges pertain to Jermaine Booker. Kendall Briscoe of Newark, NJ, is only facing charges for theft of motor vehicle and conspiracy," says McLucas.

McLucas says Booker beat the woman within inches of her life with a sharp-edged weapon; we're told only that it wasn't a gun.

"The attack on the victim was rather brutal. She is still in the Christiana Hospital in serious condition. We haven't been able to interview her," says McLucas.
