Suspect hits patrol cars, leading to drug seizure

Three men are arrested on Tuesday evening, after a traffic stop.

County police say they were assisting the Bethel Township Police Department with a burglary investigation around 6 pm.

Police say after surveillance, they conducted a stop in the Canby Park Shopping Center.

As officers were attempting to take suspects into custody, driver Kevin Hutton accelerated and struck two police vehicles and tried to flee the scene.

After further investigation, search warrants were executed on the vehicle and found property from the burglary in the car and at a New Castle residence.

Hutton was charged with receiving stole property, reckless endangering and several other offenses and committed to Howard Young on $22,500 cash bail.

Police say Cody Sherman and Ian Staley were also in the car and taken into custody at the scene.

Sherman is charged with several drug charges and committed to Howard Young non $26,500 cash bail.

Staley was charged and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
