Delaware unemployment drops in final month of 2013

Unemployment in Delaware dropped at the end of 2013.

Latest numbers from the state Labor Department show joblessness stood at 6.2% in December, down from six-and-a-half percent in November.

The new figures keep Delaware well below the national average of 6.7%.

Biggest job gains last month were in leisure and hospitality and professional and business services.

The Labor Department estimates 27 thousand 400 Delawareans were unemployed last month.
