A Newark woman faces charges after allegedly stealing jewelry from an elderly couple, over the course of a year.

County Police say they answered a call about a theft last month at a home in the 4900 block of Mermaid Drive in Pepper Ridge.

The victims, an elderly couple, told police that several pieces of jewelry had disappeared from the home, and believed an employee of a company hired to clean the home was responsible.

After an investigation, police arrested Monique Babes, but couldn't recover the stolen jewelry.

Babes was arraigned, and released on bail.
