By Associated Press

Tyshawn Bell tied a career-high with 19 points and Delaware State snapped a seven-game losing skid with a 61-53 victory Saturday over South Carolina State.

Bell made three 3-pointers in the second half, his last to spark an 11-5 run to end the game and give Delaware State (5-17, 1-8 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) its first conference win. Bell shot 7 of 11 from the field and had three steals. Kendal Williams scored 14 points, and Casey Walker hit three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points for the Hornets.

Darryl Palmer scored 11 points and Karon Wright added nine for South Carolina State (8-15, 4-6), which has lost three of its last four games. Matthew Hezekiah finished with eight points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Keith Walker won his first game since being named Delaware State's interim head coach January 30.
