Archmere dominates second half to defeat St. Andrew's

Archmere's Amanda Olsen scored 16 points as her 10th-seeded Auks pulled away late for a 52-35 victory over No. 23 St. Andrew's Tuesday night in the DIAA Girls Basketball Tournament.
Olsen hit a pair of 1st quarter three-pointers on her way to 10 points in the opening frame, but Janee Dennis hit a late bank shot for the Saints to keep the Auks' advantage at 19-18 at intermission.
Archmere's defense took over from there, holding St. Andrew's to one field goal over the first 13 minutes of the second half, while 8 players connected on the offensive end to push away.
The Auks led 32-23 three quarter, and got the lead up to 19 late in the game.
Audra Woodside added 10 points for the Auks (16-5) who advance to face No. 7 Smyrna Thursday at 7pm.
Janee Dennis scored a game-high 17 for St. Andrew's, who saw their season end at 12-7.
