A Lewes man faces murder charges after State Police say they followed a trail of blood to his location.

Troopers say their investigation began around 3 a.m. Sunday, when a dead body was discovered in the vestibule of one of the Dunbarton Apartment buildings.

The victim has since been identified as Cornelius Henry, 43.

Police say there was a trail of blood from the crime scene leading investigators to an apartment. Inside, they discovered 24-year-old Teveya Brittingham, his pants and shoes allegedly covered in blood.

Brittingham was taken into custody and incarcerated due to a probation violation.

He faces one count of first degree murder.

Police say the Medical Examiner deemed the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
